The Rules
General
--Steel Ministry is a PG-14 site. Cursing is allowed and there are some very suggestive themes due to the fact that there are brothels all over the place! Sex scenes are not allowed under any circumstances, however people will (probably) reference things that happened “off-camera” but use discretion.
--You may not harass other people, this includes constantly PMing or stalking them on the C-box, if these things happen to you please PM the staff and we will take care of it.
--Spamming is annoying. Don’t do it. Anywhere. Or I will sick Kanji-san on you and then you’ll be sorry!
--If we find out that you have plagiarized something, anything, we have the right to ban you for as long as we see fit.
--Staff are respected here. Our word goes; sadly, this is NOT a democracy. We respect your opinions and listen to them but the final decision is ours.
--Cussing is allowed here but we prefer that you don’t use long-strings-of-cuss-words-just-because-you-can, this goes for anything, OOC’s, c-boxes, posts, RPing, etc.
--This site is based off of Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series. We did not write these books nor do we take credit for them.
--It isn’t necessary to read the books, but if you haven’t read them we ask that you look at all the wonderful background information that Preservation and I worked so hard to type up for you (actually even if you have read the books you should probably read these as well).
Characters
--You can have up to 10 characters. We may change this later but for right now ten is the limit.
--USE THE FORM. You have to fill in every part that applies to your character. Putting lyrics in between the 'Appearance' 'Personality' and 'History' sections is okay but you can't change the order of those three sections.
--Even though you can make 10 characters it does not mean you need to make that many. If you know you cannot keep up with your characters as it is then do not make more!!!
--Just to be safe, and to stop repetition or annoyingly cliché characters, all character applications must be approved by an Admin before they can be RPed with. I know this may be annoying if you have to wait but it simply helps the site, so please bear with it.
--For those of you who have read the books this is 300 years before Vin, Elend, Sazed, Kelsier and the rest, don’t attempt to make canon characters. They will automatically be denied and their bodies fed to a large aquarium of man-eating fish.
--It is hard to post with extremely young characters so all characters must be over the age of 5.
--Inquisitors are not characters. You are banned from making them. Yes, yes, I know that would be so cool but Inquisitors are almost impossible to defeat.
--NO MARY OR GARY SUES! Enough said…
Marriage/Birth
--Birth is not spontaneous, painless or quick, I'm sorry. Birth on this site takes two weeks of the woman being pregnant. Then you can chose to actually give birth anytime you want.
--Who is going to RP the kid is up to the RPers of the parents. Talk amongst yourselves about it because Preservation and I refuse to get involved. When the kid’s RPer is decided they will have to PM the staff and let us in on the eventual birth.
--You may have twins if you like but please PM the staff with the information about who is going to RP which twin.
--Triplets are RARE, please PM one of the admins and we might say yes, it just depends.
--Marriage doesn't really matter, just make sure there is consent on both sides and PM the staff. We just need to know so we can add them into our lists of such things.
RPing
--At the moment there is no required post length, however there will be one if you people do not put effort into your posts. Be descriptive!
--We don't require that you write your posts in any particular way. Third, first, we don't care. Second would be harder but hey, if you can pull it off feel free to write that way!
--You are allowed to be in multiple threads per character however make sure you can keep up with all of them.
--No god-modding, powerplaying, etc. If you do this you will be told to fix your post, which is annoying for the Admins and the RPers alike.
--No chat-speak(ttyl, brb, lol, omg, etc.) It is annoying to see this in RP posts, so just don’t use it, especially since Preservation hates it, and you don’t want to see her mad. ;_; Scary!!!!
--Spell check is wonderful. It is the tool of the gods. It is the embodiment of happiness. Please use it!
Signatures and Avatars
--This is addressed in advertising as well but members can put links to their own sites in their signatures and in the provided area of their profile.
--Avatars and signatures need to be appropriate. Keep everything tasteful because this the only thing you will not get a warning about. You will be banned because our entire board could get shut down. Got it?
--Make sure signatures don't stretch the page either because that can get really annoying and is one of my pet peeves.
Advertising
--Please put all ads or affiliate requests in the correct boards. If they are put any where else they will automatically be placed into a dark vortex of hate until their very essence is ripped apart by the soul-eating rabbits that live there. Enjoy!
--As members you may put links to your own websites in the given area of your profile or in your signature, nowhere else.
C-Box
--We really shouldn't have to have rules for a c-box besides ''Use common sense'' but here they are.
--It annoys practically everyone to see heated arguments in the c-box, please keep such things to PM. Same with debates except we have a board for that in the OOC section.
--The Admins are more forgiving when it comes to the C-box and cussing, but please don’t go overboard, we don’t want our guests thinking that all of us are freaky cuss-aholics.
--Don't impersonate other members. It's dis-honest and annoying.
--Just like the boards, keep it PG-13 or 14... or 15.
