No New Posts Canton of Orthodoxy Headquarters

Led by the Lord Prelan, the Canton of Orthodoxy is the top tier of the Ministry. All other cantons must answer to the obligators of this one, who lay down the law regarding how the Cantons should function and can override decisions made by other obligators. Because of this, the Canton of Orthodoxy has the most direct contact with the Lord Ruler (particularly the Lord Prelan, who meets with him on a regular basis to give reports and receive instructions).

No New Posts Canton of Inquisition Headquarters

Easily the most terrifying piece of the Steel Ministry, the Canton of Inquisition is mostly made up of normal obligators, but most of these lack much true power. Instead, its primary officials are Steel Inquisitors, former humans who have been given incredible powers through Hemalurgy. Though they are technically ranked below the Canton of Orthodoxy, Steel Inquisitors are the most dangerous force in the Final Empire beyond the Lord Ruler himself. A police force of sorts, Inquisitors are charged with interrogating, arresting, and generally controlling the populace when need be, but their main purpose is tracking down and killing skaa Allomancers.

No New Posts Canton of Resource Headquarters

Obligators from the Canton of Resource manage the Final Empire’s natural and human resources, regulating and recording both materials and workforce statistics. Undertakings that involve major use of resources, such as building or expansion of canals and cities, must be approved by them before beginning. They also handle projects that produce more assets, such as mines and lumber work.

No New Posts Canton of Finance Headquarters

As its name suggests, the Canton of Finance oversees the Empire’s fiscal matters. Obligators from this section of the bureaucracy are in charge of allowing trade, controlling the market, and setting taxes, along with any other concerns involving money. Centered in Luthadel’s Commercial District, they don’t watch over ever purchase, but do frequently inspect shops and markets to be sure they follow regulations.

Board Information & Statistics

Board Description
The Ministry
Just as the Lord Ruler is seen as the god of the Final Empire, his government bureaucracy- the Steel Ministry- is seen as his church. However, rather than acting as clergy, officials from the Ministry handle business, legal affairs, policing, and other administrative matters. Considered direct representatives of the Lord Ruler, the officials (known as obligators) are chosen from the nobles and must witness any legal transaction between noble houses for it to be considered legitimate.
